Through emotional and architectural interrogation, Sophie Russell-Jeffrey’s work navigates the complexities between individuals and their environments. Their projects are conversational and intimate, often documenting the insecurities of private experience. They combine image and text to narrate the intricate lives of those they meet, touching on adolescent addiction and disordered patterns. The work fosters a transparency and exchange of consensual interrogation, all of which bring into question the ethics of documentation and photography.
